You need to know where the nearest hospital, is in case of an emergency. 

1. Dr. Horacio E. Oduber Hospital.


As the main hospital in Aruba, HOH is located in Eagle Beach Oranjestad. It is easy to drive to via our major highways near low-rise and high-rise hotels. 


This hospital has over 172 beds available with different types of patient care divisions for different types of care needed ranging from Intensive to ambulatory care. In the 2 main buildings, you can find the medical office building which is where the patient care divisions are located, and the new bed tower which is where the Emergency Department is located.  

This hospital consists of over 90 medical specialists that specialize in all the major medical areas. On their website, you can find a list of all the specialists available and you can search for a specific category and it will list experts that you can choose from, their contact information, and their location in the hospital. 

For insurance coverage, you will need a valid letter of guarantee from your insurance company to secure your coverage. The most important document you will need is valid picture identification. 

When paying for treatments, most credit and debit cards are valid. However, you will have to pay a fee before your treatment and after your treatment is done you will get the final bill

 2. Instituto Medico San Nicolas (ImSam) ImSam is located on the other side of the island to serve the community of San Nicolas. 


They provide a wide range of services for locals and tourists that are on vacation that still need some medical attention. One example is dialysis. ImSam has over 15 machines available and to ensure your spot, it is wise to call or email and make an appointment 3 months before the desired date. 

They also have an eye and diabetic center available from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. For more practical information you can visit their website and find their phone number to schedule an appointment that you need. The most important document that you will need is a valid picture ID.  1. Urgent Care Aruba

For any situation that requires urgent medical assistance, Urgent Care Aruba is open 24/7. UCA is located in Noord and it about 10 minutes away from high and low-rise hotels by vehicle. To be assisted, an appointment is not necessary. On their website, you can schedule an appointment. 

They provide a variety of services such as virtual care. You can easily connect with a nurse or medical professional via video chat to explain your symptoms and they can assist you afterward by visiting you in person at your home, office, and even hotel. UCA also provides health checkups and different testing services.

 2. Walk-In Doctors Clinic Palm Beach

If you would like to visit a doctor for any injuries, Dr. Lili Beke’s clinic is conveniently located in Palm Beach near high-rise hotels about 5 minutes away by a vehicle. It is close to our popular malls Palm Beach Plaza and Paseo Herencia. They are open from Monday to Friday from 8:30 am – 12:00 pm and 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm. On weekends and holidays, they are open from 2:00 pm to  4:00 pm. There is no appointment needed for any medical assistance.

3. MedCare Clinic Urgent Care

This medical clinic is close to low-rise hotels near J.E. Irausquin Boulevard. 

It is open from 9:30 am to 10:00 pm daily. They also accept walk-in clients. If you do not feel comfortable visiting the doctor in person, due to the COVID19 pandemic, they provide convenient telemedicine services. 

You can book an appointment and virtually have a consultation with a medical professional. They can assist you with a diagnosis and even prescribe you medicine.

Their services start at $50. 

MedCare can assist you with a variety of care in different areas ranging from cold and/or flu to skin conditions. On their website, you can find more information about their services.

COVID-19 PCR test available in these locations, if you are visiting, check with your hotel, since most of the hotels are offering in-house testing


Special Note: As of January 26th, 2021, the CDC requires that all US travelers must provide a COVID-19 test result, upon return to the USA. Specifically, the CDC states that all "air passengers are required to get a viral test (a test for current infection) within the 3 days before their flight to the U.S. departs, and provide written documentation of their laboratory test result (paper or electronic copy) to the airline or provide documentation of having recovered from COVID-19.


The test must be done 72-48 hours before departing Aruba. 


Pharmacies on Aruba 

We have over 18 pharmacies around the island which makes it convenient for you to get your needed medication or any personal items. 

In Noord we have 3 pharmacies, near the hospital we have one, in Paradera 1, in Oranjestad 6, in Santa Cruz we have 3, in Savaneta 1, and in San Nicolas, we have 3. 

In Botica di Servicio Eagle (the pharmacy near Dr. Horacio Oduber Hospital) you can find a vending machine with some necessary items such as Advil, Paracetamol, cough syrup, and much more. It is right next to the main entry and it is open 24/7 hence you can access it anytime you need it. 

We always have a pharmacy that is open after working hours. We call it “Botica na Warda” meaning “Pharmacy on Duty”. We have one pharmacy that is open near the Noord to Pos Chikito area and another one for the area of Savaneta to San Nicolas. 

You can always call the hospital   (297)527-4000 and ask which pharmacy is open or you can check the website of Botica di Servicio when you scroll a little bit down. They update the schedule online weekly and show the location and phone number of each pharmacy
